Smiles for the Journey
"A man was coming out of church one day, and the preacher was standing at the door as he always is to shake hands. He grabbed the man by the hand and pulled him aside.
The pastor said to him, "You need to join the Army of the Lord!"
The man quickly replied, "I'm already in the Army of the Lord, Pastor."
Pastor questioned, "How come I don't see you except at Christmas and Easter?"
He whispered back, "I'm in the secret service.".
See you in church on Sunday!

This Week at MCC of Corpus Christi
August 16, 2006
Good morning!
We are quickly approaching fall, and with fall comes many wonderful ministries in which you can participate. Read on, get involved, and be blessed!
MOVING FORWARD
As you know, the congregation of MCC of Corpus Christi voted not to repurchase the land, building, and other real property where we currently worship. "So,' you may be thinking, 'now what?"
The Board of Trustees will now be researching various alternatives for our next home. The good news is we have time to conduct this research, and the more proactive planning we do now, should we have to move in the future, the smoother that transition to our next home will be. We will keep you posted on any new developments in this area. Please remember to keep your Board of Trustees in prayer. The members of this team are Richard Lofstrand, Don Schifke, and Diana Wehrenberg.
ELECTION COMMITTEE RESULTS
The Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Jim Gott, Clayton Hill, and Mary Jo Smith have been elected to serve on this year's Election Committee. This year we will have 3 (three) 2-year Board terms to elect, as well as a one-year Alternate Lay Delegate position. We plan to have election packets available by the beginning of September for our October Annual Congregational Meeting. Stay tuned for more details.
