August Board of Directors Meeting: The August meeting of the Board of Directors is August 19th at 1PM. Everyone is invited to attend and observe this meeting.

Meeting of Spiritual Education Group: This Wednesday, August 15th, the Wednesday Night Bible Study Group will be meeting at 6:30 in the Fellowship Hall to discuss the DVD series, "Lost Christianities." Linda Hull will be facilitating this discussion, and everyone is welcome to attend!

Vacation Bible School Day: On Saturday, August 11th, MCC of Corpus Christi had the first ever Vacation Bible School. The love of Jesus flowed from the mouths of those precious children. It was a glorious, fun and wet day as well as a day of learning. The children did crafts, watched some "Veggie Tales", learned Bible verses, sang, and played in some pools. Then on Sunday they blessed us in church by singing "This Little Light of Mine" God is awesome and is shining bright at 501 S. Staples!

Volunteers Needed: We are in need of volunteers in the church office. Anyone interested please see Annette Berdan for the details. Please call the church office for more details.

Calling All Music Lovers: Anyone interested in singing, playing or leading the music on Sunday mornings, please Linda Hull for details.

August Board of Directors Meeting: The August meeting of the Board of Directors is August 19th at 1PM. Everyone is invited to attend and observe this meeting.

Meeting of Spiritual Education Group: This Wednesday, August 8th, the Wednesday Night Bible Study Group will be meeting at 6:30 in the Fellowship Hall to discuss the DVD series, "Lost Christianities." Linda Hull will be facilitating this discussion, and everyone is welcome to attend! Following the discussion we spend time in fellowship at the Taqueria Acapulco on Weber/Gollihar.

Vacation Bible School Day: Saturday, August 11th, MCC of Corpus Christi is having their first Vacation Bible School Day! This event is for young people ages 2-14, and is also open to family, friends, and the community! We need donations, volunteers, prayers, and don't forget the kids! Contact Annette Berdan at 446-1486 for more information about this sure-to-be fabulous event. Annette asks all volunteers to be at the church at 8:30 to get things ready for a day of fun and learning.

Board of Trustees and Bylaws Committee Openings: The Election Committee is now accepting applications for one (1) Board of Trustee position as well as one (1) Bylaw Committee position. Please see Jim Gott, Clayton Hill, or Mary Jo Smith for application forms and position descriptions. The deadline for both of these positions is August 12th immediately following morning worship. No late applications will be accepted.

More chairs available for donation: If you would like to make a donation to go towards more chairs please see a member of the BOD or call the church office at 882-8255.

Congregational Forum: Saturday, we welcomed the Elder serving our Region, Rev. Elder Darlene Garner. The Elder was the moderator for the Congregational Forum held at that time. During this forum the congregation discussed issues surrounding "what happens next," following the departure of Pastor Danny. While there were no votes scheduled for this meeting, it was important for members of MCC of CC to attend this forum to ask questions and offer input regarding the future direction of the church. Anyone who missed the forum should see a member of the BOD for more details regarding the meeting.

TRE: Hosting a BBQ at the Door for Christmas in July. The tickets for a wonderfully delicious plate are for only $6.00 donation. The BBQ will be held on August 7th. Just see Donnie for more information.

More chairs donated: Sandy Phelps donated $600 to go towards the purchase of additional chairs for the sanctuary. Please tell Sandy and Clayton thanks for such wonderful and selfless gifts. These chairs are wonderful and there are more waiting to be purchased. If you would like to donate some more to the church, you can get them for $50.00 each. There is a limited amount available, but we can get all we need if we act on it quickly. Just call the church office at 882-8255 or speak with a member of the BOD.
