This Week at MCC of Corpus Christi
May 15th, 2007
Praise be to God from Whom All Blessings Flow!
Now that we are in our new home, it would be easy to kick back, relax, and take it easy. Rest is great, and we certainly have much to celebrate. At the same time, there is still much to do, and here are just a few ways you can get involved and be blessed at 501 (MCC of Corpus Christi).
BOARD OF TRUSTEES OPENINGS:
The Election Committee is now accepting applications for two (2) Board of Trustees positions. The term for one position is through December 2007; the term for the second position is through December 2008. You must be a member in good standing for a period of at least 6 months to apply for these positions. Please see Jim Gott, Clayton Hill, or Mary Jo Smith for application forms and position descriptions. The deadline for submitting applications is June 3, 2007 immediately following morning worship. No late applications will be accepted.
COMMITTEE OPENINGS:
The Election Committee is now accepting the names of persons interested in serving on two new committees: The Vending Machines Committee, and The Mortgage Retirement Committee. The purpose of the Vending Machine Committee is basically to handle all matters related to our vending machine(s). The purpose of the Mortgage Retirement Committee is to research and conduct events to raise funds for retiring our building mortgage by May 2017, or sooner. Both committees will have 3 members, and report to the Board of Directors. You do not have to be a member of MCC of CC to serve on either of these committees. Please see Jim Gott, Clayton Hill, or Mary Jo Smith for application forms and position descriptions. The deadline for submitting applications is June 3, 2007 immediately following morning worship. No late applications will be accepted.
GOOD GOD QUESTIONS
Have you ever wondered why God allows suffering, or why bad things happen to good people? Most of us have asked these questions during the course of our lives. Pastor Danny is leading a study entitled, "Good God Questions." Join us on Wednesday evenings at 6:30PM in the Fellowship Hall of the church. All are welcome!
DESSERT AUCTION
Resistance is futile! You know you can't resist Jean's Banana Pudding, or Andy's Chocolate Mint Brownies! So why not go ahead and give in and give to our Delegates Fund on Sunday, May 20th immediately following our morning worship service by participating in one of our favorite fundraisers-The Dessert Auction!
BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
The May meeting of the Board of Directors will be held this Sunday at 1PM, immediately following the Dessert Auction. Everyone is invited to observe this meeting.
A PASSION FOR MISSION?
