This week:
Ash Wednesday—On Wednesday, February 17 at 7 p.m. we will have our Ash Wednesday service. This will mark the beginning of Lent.
Creating a Life that Matters set to begin on Saturday, February 20—This class will be held on Saturdays. It will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 in the afternoon. There are 3 sections to the class: The Sacred, Myself, and My Passion. Each section has 6 class sessions. Please contact Pastor Carol if you would like more information about this class.
During worship on Sunday, February 21, we will take up a second offering so that worldwide representatives can attend the General Conference of the Metropolitan Community Church . Many of these leaders are doing some of the most difficult, even dangerous work, in some of the most isolated conditions. The additional training and support that they will receive by attending Conference will make a huge difference in our worldwide MCC ministry effectiveness. Please give as you are able.
Board of Directors meeting—On Sunday, February 21 at 1:00 p.m. will be our next Board of Directors meeting. Please come and participate in how the church governs itself.
Hidden Door Dinner—From 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 21 there will be a yummy dinner held at the Hidden Door. Dinner costs $5.00. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the food pantry and the children’s ministry.
PFLAG meeting on Tuesday, February 23 at 7:00 p.m. At St. Paul’s United Church of Christ—5525 Lipes Blvd.

Awards Nomination Forms—The forms to nominate people for the awards are available on the table in the sanctuary. Please fill them out and turn them in to Lisa, Sharon , or put them in the Suggestions Box. Thank you!!
Transgender Support Group—A monthly transgender support group meets here. Each third Saturday of the month our Transgender brothers and sisters are invited to come and learn more about who we are as people of faith. This is a closed meeting and all participation is confidential. To learn more about the group please speak with Lisa B. Lancaster. She will be glad to assist you.
DVD Month—February is DVD month. Bring in those DVD’s that are collecting dust in your house and we will sell them and use the money for the Saturday night activities.
Other things:
Toiletry items—Please bring small tubes of toothpaste, shampoo, soap, etc. to church. We are collecting these items to give to the Food Pantry patrons who need them. Thank you!!! As always, grocery bags are greatly appreciated!!
Coat Collection—We are collecting coats for anyone who needs one. We will collect coats from now until the end of December. Get those old coats out of the back of your closet and put them on the back of someone who needs it!!!
The Christ-Centered Prayer group: A prayer group focusing on quiet listening is held on Fridays at 9am. Yes, in the morning!!! Come and increase your peace.
Bible study is at 6:30 every Wednesday night.
If you would like to assist with the sound system or the PowerPoint presentation? (Especially when Tom and Andy are out of town.) Please see Pastor Carol, Tom, or Andy to sign up. Tom, Andy or Howie will train you
before you’re expected to fly solo.
