With This Ring... The pages of history are filled with customs and traditions that mark the rite of marriage in many ways and today in the U.S. Capital; our community adds to that list the coming together of a holy rite and a human right. Rev. Elder Nancy Wilson, Moderator of Metropolitan Community Churches issued the following statement; "When the saga of Marriage Equality in the US is written, this day in Washington DC will be seen as a watershed moment, a tipping point. We are so proud of MCCer's, Rev. Elder Darlene Garner and Rev. Candy Holmes, Kareem Murphy and DeWayne Davis, and Pastor Dwayne Johnson, who are in the very heart of the victory today!" Rev. Elder Darlene Garner and Rev. Candy Holmes will be among several couples who will be married today at the Human Rights Campaign headquarters. Their ceremony is scheduled between 10am - 11am (EST) with the Rev. Dwayne Johnson of MCC DC officiating. We have received reports that the video coverage of today's events will be streamed live via the HRC website. Click here to find out more.
