| General Conference Promotional Rate Extended to Monday, 7 May 2012
Good news! We had great response and very strong volume in the registration system as the deadline approached for the special promotional rate for General Conference XXV! Better news! We want to make sure that everyone who was attempting to register during that time period has been able to get into the system and complete registration, so we are extending the deadline for the special low promotional rate through Monday, 7 May 2012!
Take advantage of this deal that is nearly half off the regular registration rate for General Conference, which promises to be our largest conference yet!

The Office of Emerging Ministries is developing articles and resources to assist in our mission to develop fully inclusive congregations. Here are 3 new ones: Micro-inequity refers to the ways in which individuals are "either singled out, or overlooked, ignored, or otherwise discounted" based on an unchangeable characteristic such as race or gender. A micro-inequity generally takes the form of a gesture, different kind of language, treatment, or even tone of voice. It is suggested that the perceptions that cause the manifestation of microinequities are deeply rooted and unconscious. The cumulative effect of microinequities can impair a person's performance in the workplace, classroom, or church, damage self-esteem, and may eventually lead to that person's withdrawal in many forms. |
Congratulations to Lynn Jordan, one of the founding members of and historian at MCC San Francisco (California, USA), and Rev. Dr. Penny Nixon, MCC clergy, as two new additions to the LGBT Religious Archives Network (RAN) Oral History Project. Rev. MCC clergy Rev. Jane Emma Newall, in her role as chair of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America's Clergy Advisory Board, participated in drafting an Open Letter on Family Planning with a multi-faith group guided by the Religious Institute.
