We have a very busy two weeks coming up here at MCC of CC. So read on, get involved, and be blessed!
25th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
Our 25th Anniversary celebration is just around the corner, and have we got a party planned for you! The event will be held at the Holiday Inn Emerald Beach, Saturday February 17th, beginning at 6:00 PM. Come join us for a fabulous buffet dinner, and musical entertainment by the San Antonio Men's Chorus! On Sunday, February 18th, UFMCC's Executive Director, Rev. Dr. Cindi Love will be bringing the message, AND conducting a workshop after service at 1:00PM. This FREE workshop will focus on increasing awareness of our church in the community with an emphasis on mobilization and engagement. The total cost for the dinner and party is only $35.00 each for members of MCC of CC, and $40.00 each for non-members. Please see Diane Creson to make alternative payment arrangements, if needed.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
The February Board of Directors meeting will be held Monday, February 19th at 6:30PM in the Board Room. Please note the change from the usual Sunday afternoon meeting time.
CHURCH OFFICE AND FOOD PANTRY CLOSED FEBRUARY 19th
The church office and Food Pantry will be closed Monday, February 19th, in observance of President's Day.
ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICE
Our traditional Ash Wednesday service will be held February 21st at 7:00PM. Please make plans to attend this service that marks the beginning of the reflective season of Lent.
CONGREGATIONAL MEETING CALLED FOR FEBRUARY 25TH, 2007
A Congregational Meeting has been called for Sunday, February 25th, 2007 at 12:30PM. The purpose of this meeting is to vote on a proposal to purchase the property located at 501 South Staples Street to be used as our next church home.
During the month of February, we are planning to host 1 more open house so members and friends may have a chance to view the property. The final Open House will be held Saturday, February 24th from 10AM-Noon. After a brief social time on Sunday February 25th, we will hold the Congregational Meeting at 12:30PM.
The pastor has called our community to a time of prayer as we discern the future forward movement and direction of our community of faith. We encourage you to attend the open house, and especially the congregational meeting.
RECYCLE YOUR OLD CELL PHONE AND SUPPORT YOUR CHURCH!
Wondering what to do with that old cell phone you no longer use? Wonder no more! Bring your old cell phones to us and we will send them to be recycled! Not only will you be practicing good stewardship of the environment, you will also be helping raise money for our Conference Fund. Please see Andy Wilcox for more details.
