CONGREGATIONAL MEETING CALLED FOR FEBRUARY 25TH, 2007
A Congregational Meeting has been called for Sunday, February 25th, 2007 at 12:30PM. The purpose of this meeting is to vote on a proposal to purchase the property located at 501 South Staples Street to be used as our next church home.
During the month of February, we are planning to host 2 open houses so members and friends may have a chance to view the property. We are also planning to host 1 congregational forum to discuss the financial commitment required of our congregation to both purchase and maintain this property. The dates and times of the open houses and congregational forum are as follows:
OPEN HOUSES:
SATURDAY FEBRUARY 10th 10AM-NOON
SATURDAY FEBRUARY 24th 10AM-NOON
CONGREGATIONAL FORUM:
SUNDAY FEBRUARY 11th following Social Time. This forum will be held in the
Fellowship Hall.
CONGREGATIONAL VOTE:
SUNDAY FEBRUARY 25th at 12:30PM.
The pastor has called our community to a time of prayer as we discern the future forward movement and direction of our community of faith. We encourage you to attend at least one of the open houses, the forum, and especially the congregational meeting.
RECYCLE YOUR OLD CELL PHONE AND SUPPORT YOUR CHURCH!
Wondering what to do with that old cell phone you no longer use? Wonder no more! Bring your old cell phones to us and we will send them to be recycled! Not only will you be practicing good stewardship of the environment, you will also be helping raise money for our Conference Fund. Please see Andy Wilcox for more details.
MCC OF CC REPRESENTED AT UNITY MARCH CELEBRATION JANUARY 31st
The Diversity and Ethnic Awareness and Training Committee of Del Mar College held their 2nd Annual Unity March celebration January 31st. MCC of CC was well represented by Billie "Tazz" Harvey, Diana Downs, Melissa Rollins, and Lee Brame. Pastor Danny Spears not only offered the prayer, but was also asked to share his thoughts on unity and diversity.
25th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
Our 25th Anniversary celebration is just around the corner, and have we got a party planned for you! The event will be held at the Holiday Inn Emerald Beach, Saturday February 17th, beginning at 6:00 PM. Come join us for a fabulous buffet dinner, and musical entertainment by the San Antonio Men's Chorus! On Sunday, February 18th, UFMCC's Executive Director, Rev. Dr. Cindi Love will be bringing the message, AND conducting a workshop after service at 1:00PM. The total cost for the entire weekend is only $35.00 each for members of MCC of CC, and $40.00 each for non-members. Please see Diane Creson to make alternative payment arrangements, if needed.
