Dear members, visitors, friends of church, and so on,
First of all, I like to thank each and every one of you for reading this. Thanksgiving is the time of year where we look back over all the blessing that happen to us this year. I for one am very bless for being apart of this church. This church has help me so much, spiritually, physicality, and mentally. And I hope I help out the church as much as the church dose for me. I know my 18 hours a week not much but it all I can do. I know all of you help out in deferent ways. Some spiritually, a lot of you financially, paying tithes the money the church needs to run. Other like me work for the church donating are time because we can’t afford to donate are money. Like me doing this newsletter. I all of you can help out the way you can. And let the blessing of the lord be restored on you now and in the future. Love you all; {Howie M.}

Pot luck Sunday 1st Please bring food
No Bible Study on Wednesday, November 25—Due to the Thanksgiving Holiday we will not be holding Bible Study this week. Please join us next week!!!
The things that are going on this week are: The thanksgiving dinner and Game night.
Thank you to all those who helped in the planning of this year’s Thanksgiving Dinner. We will be celebrating Thanksgiving together on Thursday, November 26 at 3:00 p.m. Please bring your favorite Thanksgiving dish
Game Night—We will be having Game Night on Saturday, November 28 at 6:00 p.m. Bring your favorite game and a friend and come on down!!!
This month;
Bible study is on Wednesday at 6:30 pm. This is the new time we are meeting. We are reading a new bible steady book “Seven Spiritual Gifts of Waiting” written by Holly W. Whitcomb. The group is lead by Pastor Carol A. Lowe.
Locher Food Pantry: is collecting stuffing for the month of November. Also toiletry items, plastic grocery bags, are needed. We are grateful for all your donations. Please keep them coming also on Wednesday’s mornings at 10:00 a.m. the food pantry need helpers to bring the food from the Food Bank to our church. We also need someone with a truck who is willing to help. Please see Chris if you can help with this vital ministry.....
The Corpus Christi Food Bank is out of canned goods. If any of you are able to help, please donate canned goods at church this Sunday. If you are going out shopping, please include a can or two of canned corn in your shopping and bring it with you to church. Thanks so much!!!
We are looking for adults who are willing to help teach our young people. We are setting up a schedule so that everyone can teach every other Sunday. Please see Vivian or Pastor Carol for more information about this important ministry of the church.
We have openings on the following committees and boards: 1 opening on the Board of Trustees, 3 openings on the Mortgage Retirement Committee, and 3 openings on the finance committee. Please see the Board of Directors if you are interested in serving on any of these committees. You must have been a member of the church for at least 6 months in order to serve as a member of the Board of Trustees.
New Member Class—Are you interested in learning more about MCC of Corpus Christi? Join us after church on Sunday, November 29, while we discuss the history of MCC and learn about how to join the church. See Pastor Carol if you are interested.
Core Values—Thank you to everyone who has helped us discern our core values. Please see the attached labyrinth to learn more about our core values. Our next step is to contact people who have been part of our church in the past, but who are no longer attending and ask them to help us discern our core values. We will be meeting after fellowship on Sunday, November 29, to continue our discussion on this topic.
Bible Study—New Time!!! We have changed the time for the Bible Study. From now on we will be meeting at 6:30 p.m. instead of 6:00 p.m. The Bible Study will continue to meet on Wednesday nights. We are studying the book: The Seven Spiritual Gifts of Waiting. Dinner will be served after the study.
World AIDS Day—The Coastal Bend AIDS foundation invites you to an open house on Tuesday, December 1 from 5;30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Harbor Playhouse. There will be an art show to raise money to assist those living with AIDS.
Commemorating World AIDS Worship—A labyrinth walk and AIDS day commemoration will be held on Thursday, December 3 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church. Anyone who wants to bring a picture of a loved one or who wants someone’s name listed at the service, please contact Pastor Carol. Also, anyone interested in playing an instrument is invited to contact Pastor Carol. There will be soft music playing during the walking of the labyrinth.
Movie Night—On Saturday, December 5 at 6:00 p.m. at church we will be having a fun movie night. Come and bring a friend. Popcorn will be served!!!
PFLAG meeting—On Tuesday, December 15 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ which is located at 5525 Lipes there will be a PFLAG meeting. PFLAG is a nationwide organization of families and friends of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender people. All are welcome to attend.
We will be decorating the church for Christmas soon. Please be planning on helping us out with our decorations.
Christmas play—Anyone who is interested in helping to plan the Christmas play this year, please see Vivian or Pastor Carol. We are planning on holding the play on Friday, December 18 at 6:00 p.m.

December 13 is the next board meeting…
On Saturday, December 19 starting at 8:00 p.m. here at church TRE will be putting on a live show. Please plan on coming and having lots of fun. At 10:30 that same evening the show will move to the Hidden Door. The show here at church will benefit the conference fund.
Rejuvenation of the Fellowship Hall and Sanctuary—Vivian is planning on painting walls, hanging pictures and spiffying up the church during the end of January, or the beginning of February. Please see her or Pastor Carol if you are interested in contributing paint, spiritual pictures or sayings or artificial plants. We are open for more suggestions as well.
Other things:
We are continuing to collect books and CD's and DVD's which will be sold to Half Price Books. This will help us raise money for the Saturday night fun activities. Please see Lisa for more information.....
If you would like to assist with the sound system or the PowerPoint presentation, especially when Tom and Andy are out of town, see
Pastor Carol or Tom or Andy to sign up. Tom and/or Andy will train you
before you are expected to "fly solo."....

The Christ-Centered Prayer group: A prayer group focusing on quiet listening is held on Fridays at 9am. Yes, in the morning!!! Come and increase your peace.
T shirt's: We are selling T-shirts for $15 each. The sizes run from
small-3x to raise money for the Conference fund. See Andy or Pat. They make a great gift.
Facebook group page: Our church now has a "Facebook" group page. A good
place to post church photos, prayer request, events, etc... The
possibilities are boundless. Search facebook, then log in or sign up. Then
search for MCC of Corpus Christi and join the group.....
