Dear MCCers:
I want to express my thanks to all who worked so hard to make our very first Virtual Special General Conference a success! To our staff, Members of the Governing Board, especially Rev. Onetta Brooks and Rev. Dr. Robert Griffin, thank you for your diligence and service, over and above this last 6 weeks. Thanks to the lay delegates and clergy of MCC for your cooperation in the virtual business forums and the voting process itself.
Congratulations to Rev. Elder Hector Gutierrez and Rev. Elder Dr. Mona West! We are so grateful for your openness to serve MCC in this way, in this time and place, and just by your gifts and commitment, enhancing and renewing the office of Elder for all of us. Everyone who says yes to this responsibility brings something new and needed to our denomination.
I will install Rev. Elder Hector this Easter Sunday in Sao Paolo, Brazil, at the conclusion of the 10th anniversary celebration -- our service will be in Portuguese, Spanish, and English. We expect to have persons from 4 or 5 countries, at least, in attendance. I wish all of you could be present to feel the joy and hope that is here in Brazil this week!
Then, on 22 April, all the Elders and the Vice Chair of our Governing Board will gather at MCC Austin (Texas, USA) to install Rev. Elder Mona and to bless Rev. Elder Hector among his colleagues. We will be welcoming back Rev. Elder Darlene from her sabbatical and have the opportunity to meet together, as Elders, and also with the Senior Leadership Team.
God is good and is our Provider in all things.
