Bible Study returns—The regular Wednesday night Bible Study will resume after the Christmas holiday on Wednesday, January 6 at 6:30 p.m. There will be no Bible Study on Wednesdays, December 23 and 30.

Next month:

Paint Party—On Saturday, January 9, we will have a party to paint the build out of the food pantry. We will begin at 10:00. Bring whatever you have in the way of paint brushes, pans, etc. There will be food & drinks too. See Chris for details.

Movie night on the 9th at 6pm the movie is 


Board Meeting—On Sunday, January 10, we will have our monthly Board of Directors meeting at 1:00 p.m. Come and learn more about how the church governs itself.

Other things:

Coat Collection—We are collecting coats for anyone who needs one. We will collect coats from now until the end of December. Get those old coats out of the back of your closet and put them on the back of someone who needs it!!!

The Christ-Centered Prayer group: A prayer group focusing on quiet listening is held on Fridays at 9am. Yes, in the morning!!! Come and increase your peace.

Bible study is at 6:30 every Wednesday night.

We are continuing to collect books and CD's and DVD's which will be sold to Half Price Books. This will help us raise money for the Saturday night fun activities. Please see Lisa for more information.....

Moving off the Map—as part of our ongoing discussion of our core values, letters have been sent to over 90 visitors to our church. Thank you to everyone who made phone calls, wrote letters, and organized the work we did. We are asking those who visited our church their opinion about our twelve core values. We will use this information as we continue to discern our core values.





This week:
Christmas Play: Friday Dec. 18th @ 6pm
TRE gospel Christmas: Dec. 19th 8pm
Christmas potluck, new member class, & moving off the map discussion Dec 20th





Christmas Play—The Christmas play will be held on Friday, December 18 at 6:00 p.m. The children will be telling the Christmas story. Please plan on coming!!

On Saturday, December 19 starting at 8:00 p.m. here at church TRE will be putting on a live show. Please plan on coming and having lots of fun. At 10:30 that same evening the show will move to the Hidden Door. The show here at church will benefit the conference fund.


Christmas Potluck On Sunday, December 20 after church we will have a potluck with a Christmas theme. Bring your favorite Figgie pudding, or whatever is special to you for Christmas food.

New Member Class—On Sunday, December 20 after church we will hold our next new member class. Please contact Pastor Carol if you are interested in learning more about the history of the church and how to become a member.

Moving off the Map—we will be continuing our discussion of contacting people at our next meeting on Sunday, December 20. Please join us!!

This month:

Christmas Eve Service On Thursday, December 24 at 7:00 p.m. we will hold our Christmas Eve service this year. Be sure to invite your friends!!!

Grab a Bite—Please join us for a bite to eat after church on Sunday, December 27. We will go out to whatever restaurant gets the most votes.

Dear members, visitors, friends of church, and so on,

First of all, I like to thank each and every one of you for reading this. Thanksgiving is the time of year where we look back over all the blessing that happen to us this year. I for one am very bless for being apart of this church. This church has help me so much, spiritually, physicality, and mentally. And I hope I help out the church as much as the church dose for me. I know my 18 hours a week not much but it all I can do. I know all of you help out in deferent ways. Some spiritually, a lot of you financially, paying tithes the money the church needs to run. Other like me work for the church donating are time because we can’t afford to donate are money. Like me doing this newsletter. I all of you can help out the way you can. And let the blessing of the lord be restored on you now and in the future.  Love you all; {Howie M.} 

No Bible Study on Wednesday, November 25—Due to the Thanksgiving Holiday we will not be holding Bible Study this week. Please join us next week!!!

The things that are going on this week are: The thanksgiving dinner and Game night.

Thank you to all those who helped in the planning of this year’s Thanksgiving Dinner. We will be celebrating Thanksgiving together on Thursday, November 26 at 3:00 p.m. Please bring your favorite Thanksgiving dish


Game Night—We will be having Game Night on Saturday, November 28 at 6:00 p.m. Bring your favorite game and a friend and come on down!!!

This month;


Bible study is on Wednesday at 6:30 pm. This is the new time we are meeting. We are reading a new bible steady book “Seven Spiritual Gifts of Waiting” written by Holly W. Whitcomb. The group is lead by Pastor Carol A. Lowe.


Locher Food Pantry: is collecting stuffing for the month of November. Also toiletry items, plastic grocery bags, are needed. We are grateful for all your donations. Please keep them coming also on Wednesday’s mornings at 10:00 a.m. the food pantry need helpers to bring the food from the Food Bank to our church. We also need someone with a truck who is willing to help. Please see Chris if you can help with this vital ministry.....

The Corpus Christi Food Bank is out of canned goods. If any of you are able to help, please donate canned goods at church this Sunday. If you are going out shopping, please include a can or two of canned corn in your shopping and bring it with you to church. Thanks so much!!!

We are looking for adults who are willing to help teach our young people. We are setting up a schedule so that everyone can teach every other Sunday. Please see Vivian or Pastor Carol for more information about this important ministry of the church.

We have openings on the following committees and boards: 1 opening on the Board of Trustees, 3 openings on the Mortgage Retirement Committee, and 3 openings on the finance committee. Please see the Board of Directors if you are interested in serving on any of these committees. You must have been a member of the church for at least 6 months in order to serve as a member of the Board of Trustees.

New Member Class—Are you interested in learning more about MCC of Corpus Christi? Join us after church on Sunday, November 29, while we discuss the history of MCC and learn about how to join the church. See Pastor Carol if you are interested.

Core Values—Thank you to everyone who has helped us discern our core values. Please see the attached labyrinth to learn more about our core values. Our next step is to contact people who have been part of our church in the past, but who are no longer attending and ask them to help us discern our core values. We will be meeting after fellowship on Sunday, November 29, to continue our discussion on this topic.

Bible Study—New Time!!! We have changed the time for the Bible Study. From now on we will be meeting at 6:30 p.m. instead of 6:00 p.m. The Bible Study will continue to meet on Wednesday nights. We are studying the book: The Seven Spiritual Gifts of Waiting. Dinner will be served after the study.
World AIDS Day—The Coastal Bend AIDS foundation invites you to an open house on Tuesday, December 1 from 5;30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Harbor Playhouse. There will be an art show to raise money to assist those living with AIDS.
Commemorating World AIDS Worship—A labyrinth walk and AIDS day commemoration will be held on Thursday, December 3 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church. Anyone who wants to bring a picture of a loved one or who wants someone’s name listed at the service, please contact Pastor Carol. Also, anyone interested in playing an instrument is invited to contact Pastor Carol. There will be soft music playing during the walking of the labyrinth.
Movie Night—On Saturday, December 5 at 6:00 p.m. at church we will be having a fun movie night. Come and bring a friend. Popcorn will be served!!!

PFLAG meeting—On Tuesday, December 15 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ which is located at 5525 Lipes there will be a PFLAG meeting. PFLAG is a nationwide organization of families and friends of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender people. All are welcome to attend.


We will be decorating the church for Christmas soon. Please be planning on helping us out with our decorations.

Hallo everyone, I would like to personally thank each and Everyone of you for taking a little bit of time out of your day to read the Corpus Christi Metropolitan Community Church news letter. This newsletter will let you know about the day to day actives that happen here at the church. If you want you can post your opinion at newsletter@mcccorpuschristi.org.

The things that are going on this week are: the Dessert auction, Bible Study, BBQ at the hidden door, Transgender Support Group, Al Amin Shrine Circus collection.

The Dessert Auction will be hosted by Andy Wilcox on Sunday nov.22nd after worship to raise money for the conference fund which will enable the pastor and the lay delegate to attend the conference in 2010 in Acapulco. So bring your favorite dessert or your checkbook come out and have a good time.

Bible study is on Wednesday at 6:30 pm. This is the new time we are meeting. We are reading a new bible steady book “Seven Spiritual Gifts of Waiting” written by Holly W. Whitcomb. The group is lead by Pastor Carol A. Lowe.

There will be BBQ Beef Dinner from 4:00 to 7:00 this Sunday evening at the Hidden door. BBQ beef and brisket dinner with all the fixing’s The proceeds from this dinner will benefit Communities in Schools.

The new Transgender Support Group meeting is starting on Saturday the 21st at 6pm. This group is hosted by Lisa B. Lancaster. Please talk to her if you wish to attend. Or call 882-8255 to leave her a message.

If you would like to contribute to the Al Amin Shrine Circus collection for children who are not able to afford the tickets, a collection plate will be available in the rear of the sanctuary on Sunday, November 22nd .

This month;

Thank you!!!—A HUGE Thank you to everyone who contributed so generously to our finances over the past few weeks. We have paid our quarterly taxes and are grateful to you and to God for all that has been given to us!!! MANY THANKS to everyone who continues to do the work behind the scenes to make this church go. Special thanks to those who organized and worked on the Fall Festival and Halloween Party!!!

Board Meeting—After church today we will be having our monthly Board of Directors meeting. Please join us to find out more about the workings behind the scenes of the church.

Dessert Auction: It's time again to dust off your recipe books! Get ready to make your Great Aunt Fred's famous upside down and inside out blueberry peach cake or you cousin's nephew's raspberry rhubarb pie! Make your favorite dessert and bring your checkbooks! Enjoy the fun of a live auction for your desserts! Sunday Nov 22nd after worship. The proceeds from this sale will go towards the conference fund which will enable the pastor and the lay delegate to attend the conference in 2010 in Alcapulco. Ole!!

Finances—God has blessed us each and every day of our lives. We are so grateful for everyone’s financial contributions to the church. We need $2080 per week this week to pay our bills. Please respond as you are able. Thank you to everyone who gave so generously!! More info will be updated Sunday. Once again thank you for your support

Dinner at the Hidden Door—On Sunday, November 8, we will be serving dinner at the Hidden Door from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. We will be serving Barbecue Beef. Yummy!!!

Transgender Day of Remembrance—On Sunday, November 15, we will be celebrating the gifts of the transgender community and remembering those who have died as a result of coming out. Lisa B. Lancaster will be leading worship on this day. .

Christ Centered Prayer Retreats at Mustang Island Retreat Center Nov 30-Dec 3 • Jan 14-20

World AIDS Day—The Coastal Bend AIDS foundation invites you to an open house on Tuesday, December 1 from 5;30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Harbor Playhouse. There will be an art show to raise money to assist those living with AIDS.

Commemorating World AIDS Worship—A labyrinth walk and AIDS day commemoration will be held on Thursday, December 3 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church. Anyone who wants to bring a picture of a loved one or who wants someone’s name listed at the service, please contact Pastor Carol. Also, anyone interested in playing an instrument is invited to contact Pastor Carol. There will be soft music playing during the walking of the labyrinth.

Dinner at the Hidden Door: On Sunday, October 11, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., we will be serving dinner at the Hidden Door. We will be serving King Ranch chicken and dessert for only $5.00. The money we raise will be given to the Food Pantry. Come hungry and bring a friend!!!

Movie Night: On Saturday, October 10th, we will have movie night at 6:00 p.m. Bring a friend and enjoy the movie.
Fall Festival—On Saturday, October 24 we will be having our annual fall festival. This is a fun event for children. We will have games and hot dogs and prizes. Anyone interested in helping, please contact Vivian.....
Halloween Bash—On Saturday, October 31, there will be a Halloween Dance and Talent Show. The Dance will be from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The talent show and costume contest will begin at 9:00 p.m. Please plan on wearing your favorite costume. T shirt’s: We are selling T-shirts for $15 each. The sizes run from small-3x to raise money for the Conference fund. See Andy or Pat.....
We need help—On Wednesday mornings at 10:00 a.m. the food pantry needs helpers to bring the food from the Food Bank to our church. We also need someone with a truck who is willing to help. Please see Chris if you can help with this vital ministry.....
Book Drive—We are collecting books and CD’s and DVD’s which will be sold to Half Price Books. This will help us raise money for the Saturday night fun activities. Please see Lisa for more information.....
Sound System—If you would like to assist with the sound system or the PowerPoint presentation, especially when Tom and Andy are out of town, see Pastor Carol or Tom or Andy to sign up. Tom and/or Andy will train you before you are expected to “fly solo.”....
Annual Congregational Meeting—We will be having our annual congregational meeting on Sunday, October 25 after worship. We will be electing Board members at this time. If you are interested in being a Board member, please see one of the members of the election committee: Jim Gott, Diane Creson, or Sharon Scott.....
Coastal ....Bend.... Walk 'n Roll Celebration—On Saturday, October 17, registration will be held from 7:00-7:45 a.m. The walk begins at 8:00 a.m. This walk is to bring community awareness for people with disabilities.
