New Pastoral Search Resources

We are excited to introduce a new Pastoral Search resource for local churches!  The comprehensive new tool was developed by Rev. Elder Arlene Ackerman, with consultation from MCC Elders and staff, more than 20 pastors and members of Pastor Search Teams.  It provides both an overall framework for the Pastoral Search process and practical, step by step details with samples of key forms that can be used "as is" or customized for use in your church.

Rev. Arlene says, "We all understand that the selection of your next pastor is quite possibly one of the most important decisions your church will make.  If your pastoral selection is a "good match" it will be the beginning of an exciting time of growth and development and effective ministry that will touch the lives of many people in a positive way."

This MCC Pastoral Search Process contains our denominational recommendations and pastoral search protocols, designed to help search teams identify and achieve that "good match".  The process overview document lays out the framework.  Click here to review the new pastoral search resources.

When Disaster Strikes MCC Responds

MCC provides disaster relief for flood damage from hurricane Alex to Casa de Luz MCC

The usually dry Santa Catarina river that runs through the centre of Monterrey turned into a raging torrent, flooding major highways and paralyzing Mexico's third-biggest city.

One man died after he was swept nearly 500 meters by the waters and trapped against a fence. The body of another drowned man was found in a creek.

Alex was the first hurricane of the 2010 Atlantic season, and the first to appear in June since 1995.

Opportunity to serve on the MCC Board of Pensions, USA
Our MCC clergy are the lifeblood of our community.  The MCC Pension Plan is one way we show them we care about their future.  The Board of Pensions is an active board which not only oversees the clergy pension plan, but strives to improve and expand it as well.
We have 2 openings on our National Board, which carry a four year term.  Marketing, communication and/or technological skills would perfectly complement our current Board make up.    Please contact us for more information.  We will provide applications to those interested.  Successful candidates will be appointed by the Governing Board and Moderator.
Our deadline to receive resumes/references is October 15, 2010. Please send resumes to:

The MCC Theologies Team Welcomes...

It's with great joy that we share with you the good news that three people have accepted the invitation to join the Moderator's Theologies Team for MCC.
We are pleased to welcome Rev. Patrick Cheng, Bryce Rich, and Rev. Margarita Sanchez De Leon.  Patrick, Bryce, and Margarita will join returning team members Axel Schwaigert, Skip Chasey, Jim Burns, Mona West, and Kharma Amos.  Of course, the team also includes our Moderator, Rev. Elder Nancy Wilson, and our staff supporter (and excellent contributor in her own right) Connie Meadows.
