This Week at MCC of Corpus Christi
April 3rd, 2007

Good evening!

MCC OF CORPUS CHRISTI IS MOVING!!! (JUST A LITTLE LATER NOW)
God continues to bless us as we move forward toward starting life together in our new home at 501 South Staples. Our electrical power was restored late last week, and last Saturday we continued to clean the property and prepare it for more inspections, painting, and minor repairs.
We will be moving our church office and Food Pantry this Friday, April 6th. We will continue to call members and friends to remind you of upcoming church workdays so we can continue to move forward on this important project.

REMEMBER: we have moved the date of our first service at "501" to Sunday, May 6th. We will continue to update you about workdays and any other changes that may happen during this time.

Thanks to everyone who has stepped up in any way to help make our transition as smooth as possible. There are many ways you can be part of this exciting time in our church. Just check with any Board member to find out how! Please continue to keep our community of faith in prayer as we move forward.

HOLY WEEK EVENTS
Good Friday Service: Friday, April 6th is Good Friday. At 7PM, MCC of CC will be performing a short dramatic skit written by T.C. Cruz as our way of observing Good Friday this year. Please join us for this event, and be sure to invite your friends.

Easter Baskets: We are gearing up for our Annual Easter Basket Drive! Please bring "Easter Basket Fixin's", and place them in the box near the front door of the sanctuary. We will be assembling them shortly before Easter; so stay tuned for more details on this always-fun event! UPDATE: We will be assembling the baskets on Thursday, April 5th. Call Annette Berdan at 882-8255 for more details.

Easter Potluck: This year, Mary Jo Smith is coordinating our Annual Easter Potluck. Please see her to sign up to bring a covered dish, to help set up, clean up, any or all of the above!

Easter Egg Hunt: We will be having an Easter Egg Hunt as part of our Easter Celebration next week. Please see Annette Berdan to find out how you can help make this annual event a fun time for our kids.

CHURCH OFFICE AND FOOD PANTRY CLOSED
The church office and Food Pantry will be closed this week, April 9th-14th, and will reopen on Monday, April 16th at 501 South Staples. Phone messages will be checked daily, and all calls will be returned.

AND WHEN THE PANTRY REOPENS.

Help Wanted! A volunteer to help with the congregation's Food Bank Ministry. Working hours are flexible, Monday or Wednesday (morning hours). The job is labor intensive involving moving cartons full of food and packing food baskets for clients. A good way to get your exercise...and maintain your suave figure...
If you are interested, call the church office and ask for some "on-the-job" training. One month, one year, forever, you will be glad you did!

Our Food Bank serves about 100 families every month. Is it an "easy ministry"? Not even close...is it rewarding? You Bet! A special thanks to Randy Steele for being one of our volunteers these past few months. We wish both him and David Carter the best blessings available as they leave our area and continue being vagabonds!

LOVE OFFERING ON APRIL 29th
We will be taking a love offering on Sunday, April 29th to help UFMCC with their important ministry work in Eastern Europe. MCC of Corpus Christi is definitely a loving and caring congregation. So let's do our best to show our sisters and brothers in Eastern Europe that we support their efforts to share God's life changing love for all people in their part of the world!
