IN THE NEWS

Rev. Candy Holmes (MCC DC, Washington, DC, USA) has been invited to join the National Black Justice Coalition's (NBJC) inaugural Leadership Advisory Council (LAC) and has been asked to lead the Religion and Faith Team.  NBJC is a national civil and transgender (LGBT) people rights organization dedicated to empowering Black lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered individuals. The LAC is comprised of 40 distinguished and exemplary leaders chosen because of their interest, fortitude, thought leadership, and commitment to equality. The purpose of the LAC is to strategically assess strategies and tactics with the intention to broaden NBJC's reach and to more effectively tell the stories of Black LGBT peoples. With thoughtful advice and engagement, Council members will have the opportunity to deepen NBJC's impact on federal, state, and local policy, help develop strategic messaging for the Black LGBT community, and extend NBJC's reach into various communities and networks.
